HI-Y The local chapter of the Hi-Y, which is an organization sponsored by the County Y. M. C. A. under the direction of Mr. Evarts, County Sec- retary, applies well at Grossmont the purpose of the organization: to create, maintain, and extend throughout the school and community high standards of Christian character. Grossmont chapter was founded in 1927 and has now a membership of sixty in the combined junior and senior divisions. During the first quarter of this year, the Y enlisted the aid of all Freshman boys to repair the Grossmont G, made by the chapter last year. Beside regular activities, including sponsoring group study of voca- tions under leadership from local business men, it held the annual Gross- mont Fathers' and Sons' banquet in April. joint meetings were held during the year with Point Loma and Escondido Hi-Y's, and with the local Girl Reserve chapters.
