We shall not soon forget you, and with affection we wish you happiness in the future. In dedicating our Pericon to you, Mr. McCann, we hope to express our appreciation for all you have done. ITGACITIASIGRIS SSAGS TO THE CLASS OF 1956- It is always somewhat hazardous to write in March an appraisal of the year's accomplishments of a senior class. Since the record is incomplete, pre- dictions are necessary, and predictions have been known to backfire. To date, I am happy to say, there is evidence to indicate that you are well on your way to a fine year. You have made an excellent start, picking up your responsibilities with gusto and good cheer. You have tackled significant new proiects and are work- ing toward the solution of several problems of ad- justment to the new school which carried over from last year. If you continue with the spirit and energy which you have displayed thus far, your record should be very good indeed. On the strength of your efforts to date I feel iustified in predicting that, by the end of this year, thanks largely to your sincere interest, thoughtful leadership, and good example there will exist in the upper school a new understanding of what we mean oy citizenship, loyalty and school spirit. I am not referring so much to your work on the defi- nitions for these terms, or the rewriting of the Stu- dent Council Constitution, as to the infinitely more difficult task of transmitting the idea behind the defi- nitions to the student body, and of helping individ- uals as well as the group to put the theory into practice. If my forecast is iustified by the outcome, we will have a great deal to thank you for, and you, in turn, will have reason to be proud of your achievement. May your accomplishments here augur well for your future success. JOHN CHANDLER, JR.
