CLASS 1l.0RlA RHIKEI, IERADSIIAW' MeKEE Gloria has line artistic ability minus the torrid temperament, She can draw lush landscapes and lovely ladies equally well. She has danced beautifully in the May Day festivities, and did a wicked can-can in the '15 l'aricIie.r. Gloria is gracious to everybody. She is known for her grace- ful tapering hands and lingers. She is an excellent hockey player. You can lind her next year sketching the environs of Brad- ford junior College. Brads toughness and spirit have been an asset to every team he has played on. He has the honor of having been at D.U.S. the longest, having entered in the lirst grade. He has won three letters each in football and baseball. The boys elected him Vice-President of the U-Club and President of the Athletic Council. He was at one time Advertising Manager of the -Iifidllgflf. Brad plans to enter the V-ll program soon after graduation. SIIIRLEY YUUNU Shirley is the sweet, serious member ol the tlass. She excels in all her studies and is the valedictorian of her class. She is an athlete and was on the hockey varsity in the eleventh grade. Shirley was a talented addition to the l t1fielie.v uf 'll, '42, and 'li She made a serene and melodious Madonna in the Christmas pageant. Her seeming docility is just a blind lor her love of lun. She is at all times sweet tempered and sintere. She will be at Smith in the tall. amy.-yp-f vs-,mf me .lil t if Q

57 ,Q A R 1 X A gs 9- JM Wx Nxt, FRANKLIN JOHNSON MARJORIE OBERTEUFFER Frank came to D.U.S. for his senior year only. He has an alert mind and is quick to adapt himself to different situations as they present themselves. He is also a good mixer. Devoting himself to the better- ment of his studies and broken bones, he didn't participate in any sports. He was elected Photographic Editor of the Peri- mn. Favorite line ifalsettol: My son Frank is sick today. Frank will probably get a war job this summer. Midge is the baby of the class. She was an attractive May Day attendant in the eleventh grade. She was in the Varieties of 1943. She is always pleasant and cour- teous. She is active in sports of all sorts. She is an excellent tennis player. Her suntan attests the fact that she is an out- door girl. She is slightly fickle, but once her mind is made up, is stays that way. She has an entertaining wit which creeps into her conversation. IOR ERNEST KRATZET The Wolf was another recruit from Country Day. He is a line example of a mixture of athletic skill, scholastic adept- ness, and likeable personality. He won letters for two years of baseball and one year of football. Being ineligible for basketball because of inter-scholastic rul- ing, he spent the winter chasing McKee around the boxing ring. Favorite line: I guess I'1l have watermelon. He ap- plied for Army officer training and will leave after his graduation in june,

Although exceptional in all fields of study, his main interest is in scientific work. He won a tennis letter hy playing in the re- gional tournaments. He was Vice-Presi- dent of the Freshman class, President of the junior class, and Vice-President of the Student Council, also a memlwer of the U-Clulw and Managing liditor of the 'liri- dPl.HlC'. Mac intends to eventually get to M.l,T. ANN VVIIITEIIEAD Annie is the senior with seniority rights. She began Country Day in the kindergar- ten and his completed the twelfth grade, she took a vacation at Kingswood in the tenth grade, however. She is known for her small size, her infectious laughter, and and her cheerful outlook on life. Her sparkle and pep made her an inspiring captain of the Gold Team in the eleventh grade. In her senior year she was presi- dent of the girl's Athletic Association. She is planning to devote her time to Nurses Aide duties. IOR W'll.I.lAlVl XVILSON Willy ' was a silent individual when he came to us in the ninth grade, hut we notice that he has since been converted. He is generous, cheerful, popular, with a definite flair for classroom humor. He was Vice-President of the -Iunior class. Treasurer of the Senior class, and hard- working Advertising Manager of the Peri- mn. A member of the U-Cluh, he played Varsity foothall three years, winning one letter. and also tennis for three years. The V-l Z program will soon he educating Bill.
