CLASS MERRILL Me-IILINTOCK CHARLES GETLER NANCY Rl-IICKIE Merrill is the vivacious, dimpled belle of the class. She is bubbling over with en- thusiasm for everything from dachshunds to ballet shoes. Her atrocious puns are a source of terror to everyone but herself. She was a darling pickaninny in the '45 Varieties. She made a striking May Day attendant in the ninth grade. She has closetsful of clothes and never fails to look like a page of illAluIL'IIllli.fL'HL'. She slaved to get out the Senior edition of Tri-Slar. Get's appearance was lirst noticed in the fourth grade, and since then he has become a fixture of the class. His ability and etiorts have attained him a high rank although he is one of the youngest mem- bers of the class. Four years of tennis and two of football finally resulted in a letter last fall. He is Feature Editor of the Triangle and Business Manager of the Perirwl. Chuck will take in a little of Princeton before hitting the Navy. Nan is possessed of that rare character- istic. stability, This shows itself both in the classroom and on the athletic field. She is Grosse Pointe's greatest baseball enthusiast. She has remarkable self-con- trol and is an all-round good sport. She gives vent to her exuberant spirits in an extraordinary laugh which never fails to make her classmates shriek with delight. She has a wonderful sense of humor and only scowls over school work. Q-if A! I 44' NN-...U .Smit

f' if X W a New- - Q3 if .l 'N' X l' at X 'reflex 'W F I 0 R DONALD FINNIE LUCIE ANN NAUMAN Don left the sacred portals of Hotch- kiss to spend his senior year with us. His originality and speed of thought make him stand out in any crowd. His musical ability is a welcome addition to any party. He was elected Managing Editor of the Perimn and his work was well appreci- ated. In sports he worked with the gen- eral squad and donned a football suit to help the class trounce the Juniors. He plans to lounge at Princeton until the Selective Service finds him. Luce is one of the more volcanic mem- bers of the senior class. She never fails to startle her classmates when she comes out of her serene quandary with some scheme of gigantic proportions. She is impulsive and affectionate. Her greatest luxury is procrastination. She has a smooth wardrobe and never looks the least bit mussed up. She was an able chairman for the junior Prom in 1942 and an equally efficient Student Council president in her senior year. She'll be selling War Bonds at Smith next year. STANLEY DAY Stan came to D.U.S. in the sixth grade, but interspersed a brief bout at the High School. He has the great quality of lead- ership and is a plugger in anything he tries. He was elected President of the Sophomore class, played Varsity football two years, and was a member of the Dra- matic and Glee Clubs. He was Business Manager of the Triangle in his senior year. Uncle Sam is making Stan's plans for the next few years.

57 ,Q A R 1 X A gs 9- JM Wx Nxt, FRANKLIN JOHNSON MARJORIE OBERTEUFFER Frank came to D.U.S. for his senior year only. He has an alert mind and is quick to adapt himself to different situations as they present themselves. He is also a good mixer. Devoting himself to the better- ment of his studies and broken bones, he didn't participate in any sports. He was elected Photographic Editor of the Peri- mn. Favorite line ifalsettol: My son Frank is sick today. Frank will probably get a war job this summer. Midge is the baby of the class. She was an attractive May Day attendant in the eleventh grade. She was in the Varieties of 1943. She is always pleasant and cour- teous. She is active in sports of all sorts. She is an excellent tennis player. Her suntan attests the fact that she is an out- door girl. She is slightly fickle, but once her mind is made up, is stays that way. She has an entertaining wit which creeps into her conversation. IOR ERNEST KRATZET The Wolf was another recruit from Country Day. He is a line example of a mixture of athletic skill, scholastic adept- ness, and likeable personality. He won letters for two years of baseball and one year of football. Being ineligible for basketball because of inter-scholastic rul- ing, he spent the winter chasing McKee around the boxing ring. Favorite line: I guess I'1l have watermelon. He ap- plied for Army officer training and will leave after his graduation in june,
