Like their predecessors Karen Bryant and Mark Kirk were com pletely free to be as creative as possible in planning this issue At their organizational meeting held in January and open to the whole school they sought originality and freshness in suggestions for page topics ,uv 5 ra if -dvi' egfsiff 452-K lf Barbara Horn, HA, were to read all the View Pointes, beginning with the first issue in January, 1939, she would get one of the most complete pictures of 20 years of high school lile in the country. Two semesters are missing. Because of World War ll, there was no View Pointe in January or June, 1944. Page Twelve The Fortleth View Pomte . his is the fortieth View Pointe, and it s speclal ThlS 1ssue ends 20 years of two a year View Pointes Forty times students have dreamed up, written, and proofread VIBW Pomte copy for View Pomte pages Forty times students have planned, snapped, and cropped pictures Forty times editors and photogra phers have captured the atmosphere of our school in pictures and prmt Like forty windows, the forty View Pointes frame glimpses of mid-century high school life in Grosse Pointe, Mich- igan. With only one graduating class each year hereafter, View Pointe of the fu- ture will be necessarily different. And so this, the fortieth View Pointe, is a milestone, marking the end of an era and signifying a new direction just around the corner.
