Completely indispensible in helping Mr. Routh keep this massive school running smoothly were two people: Mr. Glenn, assistant principal, with his steady smile and his always-right answer to experience, good help the need at hand, and Miss Wood, dean of stu¬ dents, with her poised and gracious approach to every emergency and duty of the clinic and at¬ tendance center. The over-eighty teachers at Senior High not only worked closely with these two important people in many ways, but found time to be tire¬ less advisers and ardent supporters of all school activities. They went on long trips to Nassau as chaperones; they played basketball and acted as cheerleaders with a girl’s club. Above all they worked at being successful classroom teachers. IK. K. L.
