On the twenty fifth of Aprll we took our an nual trlp to Chic go. The not too happy score at the end of the Qame was 13 13 GRIDLEY DECISIONS STUBRORN CORNVLL The Cornell Cardinals threw everything they had at us on our last game Brother, were we wor in the second half, determined not to be beaten in out last game We played our hearts out and man aged to trip up our foes 20 to 12 It was a see saw battle and we had to come from behind to w1n They had one of the best quarterbacks in the area and he was running fine that night, giving our men trouble on the pitch outs As the second half wore on, our hard con ditioninv started paying off We started being the whole show It was the last game for Don Funk, Don Nafzig er, Dave Rinkenberger, Glenn Jenkins, and Tom Meiss, and they played like it was It was a great season and wewwon 2nd place in the conference, a proud claim to be sure Our thanks to Mr Moon, who we rate as the best, bar none, in the business, and to Mr Holler, who did a great job of scouting and coaching ried after the first halfi. Flanagan went on to win the District and made a fine showing in the Regional. Thus ended Gridley basketball for S8-59.
