HEELAN -ew BURKE .. WAGNER .. PLATTE ee MISSION ,.. . CHAMBERLAIN MILLER H WINNER Our first game away from home, proved our lack of game experience. 'As a result a shift in the line replaced the weakness and injuries. The final score was 32-0 in favor of I-Ieelan. The Bulldogs lost their strength as a hard charging line and a balanced back- field batted down their aerial attack. The final result was 7-6 in favor of the Gorillas in the first conference game of the season. The lack of stamina by the Wagner team caused their defeat on a very hot Friday afternoon 30-7. The Panthers racked up the second defeat for the Gorillas 19-0. This loss can be blamed on overconfidence and a key injury. This victory of 34-13 over Mission was the beginning of a long march to the championship. The Black Angels went to Hades as they went down with a 40-19 loss before the Gorillas. This was the second conference win as the Gorillas were well on the way to the conference championship. The defeat of Winner by Miller promised the Gorillas a taste of the victory to come, Their single wing plays were well scouted as the final result was 26-6 in favor of the Gorillas. The Rosebud Conference Championship hung in the balance in the final game of the season. Gregory was well scouted as the half time score for Winner was 12-0. A strong third quarter for the Gorillas showed 13-12. Winner made their final 'drive early in the fourth quarter making the score 18-13. The weary and determined Gorillas pushed over the winning touch- down in the last few seconds of the game, leaving the Gorillas the undis- puted Champions of the Rosebud Conference. The First Eleven First row: L. Schlaht. Second row: J. Putnam, B. Olson, V. Powell, J. Lopour, B. Lopour. Third row: D. Stukel, L. Kucera, M. Krienibuhl, D. Steffen, M. Jelinek.
