They did an outstanding job supporting the Big Red at every game and keeping up the spirit whether they were winning or not. They were on the job-rain or shine. Several of the girls attended the Cheerleaders' Clinic at Bridgeport University, where they represented our school. With eleven new girls on the squad and several new original cheers, the cheerleaders had a very good season. Greenwich High will long remember this spirited and enthusiastic group under the leadership of Miss Boles and cap- tained by Peggy Mann. 151' Q 'I7 5 'N-.ua -sf if

SOCCE With the beginning of a new school year, the soccer team, represented by a fresh group of 'green' boys, took to the field under the combined efforts of Mr. Wood- vine and Coach Gustafson in the hope of a fruitful season. The few returning veterans, however, were hardly enough to spearhead their inexperienced team- mates to a successful season in this tough sport. The Redmen were sparked by the undying efforts of C. Ross CCaptainD, B. Morley, B. Koke, P. McDevitt, G. Brown, G. Davis, H. Haalack, j. McEvoy, N. Ferris, R TEAM B. Lockwood, J. Merritt, D. Koerner, T. Cosgrove, C. Cross, R. Wong, and L. Boyle CManagerD. In spite of the results, the scores of the games are ample proof that the margin of defeat was not decisive. The success of the soccer team can be counted on in the future if the response of its present aspirants is used as evidence. Their eagerness and competitive spirit will open a path for victorious teams in years to come.
