The council, ably led by Presi- dent Marty Craig, Vice President Fred Andrews, and Secretary Tom Nelson, sponsored an extensive cam- paign, and, through this, the thousand four hundred and twenty students realized their growing partner- ship in one school. In addition to this marvelous record, the Student Council worked out a plan to hire buses to transport many Cardinal fans to the away football games. At the end of this spectacular football season, the Council voted in precedent breaking action to award the G's to the members of the football team at the time of the Waskowitz trophy presentation instead of in the history of Greenwich High School that this had been done. The Council enlivened the school year with two General Organization assemblies. The first one was an Indian demonstration which featured the customs and costumes of maior tribes from various North American areas, the second, a Swing Assembly, starring many of our senior boys and alumni. A serious and intricate problem which the Student Council worked on was a proposed student court. lt made progress toward plans for a Student Council as a judiciary group, hearing and iudging cases of viola- tions of student regulations.
