ll Qt? ll Il 6 ll ll ll gp i 4 T F i6 1 ii6U '1' TH U I l BILL ' ' BULLET ' ' BYERS BACK Billy, although handicapped by small stature, was the key man in the Raider backfield. His accurate passes accounted for many of the Electric touchdowns, as did his numerous thrilling end sweeps. For three years, his unerring judgment has guided the Greenvillians into the higher circles of prep school football. His field generalship as regular quarterback meant much in bringing the South Carolina football title to G. H. S. last fall. Bullet garnered All-State honors in 1937 and attained the second team last year. He also took part in the All-Star battles between the two Carolinas during the past two seasons. His uncanny ability to call signals and his quick kicks will be greatly missed during the ensuing grid campaign. OZELLE PUss Cox BACK Playing as a regular fullback for the first time, Ozclle proved to be one of the most dependable performers in the varsity backficld. His power and weight enabled him to pick up neces- sary yardage when the Speermen needed only one or two paces for a first down. His ripping line plunges were practically unstoppable, while his bruising tackles won for him All- State mention. For the past two years, Puss has been one of the squad's most devastating blockers. He is not expected to return next year and will be severely missed when the Red and White offensive be- gins to move again.
