WELCOME MR. OLIVER MR. BALL CLARK J. OLIVER Principal Mr. Oliver has been with GHS since 1947, first as choir director, then as counselor. Last year he was coordinator of secondary curriculum before accepting the post of principal this fall. He holds a master degree in counseling, guidance and administration from Michigan State. When Mr. Oliver first came to GHS there were no choirs and he is responsible for starting the A Cappella Choir and the Choral Union. He is currently working on his doctorate in Administration at MSU. MARTIN E. BALL Vice-Principal Mr. Ball, our new vice-principal, taught and coached at Battle Creek-Lakeview High School for fifteen years before coming to GHS this fall. Mr. Ball graduated from Western Michigan with majors in physical education and social studies. He has his master degree in secondary administration. Besides his vice-principal duties. Mr. Ball is Hi-Life advisor at GHS. 3

Not only do the people themselves change, but Greenville High School is starting a new page in the school's history. Greenville High was founded a century ago, in 1869, and among the changes this year are a new principal and vice-principal. In athletics, too, we are changing. We are now in a new sports conference; the Tri-River League. DEDICATION-1969 This year the Hi-Life staff is proud to dedicate the 1969 Hi-Life to Mr. Heiby. We arrived at this decision because of his friendliness to, and understanding of, the students of G.H.S., his devotion to teaching, and his love of sports. Mr. Heiby was born February 27, 1934. He attended school in Bowling Green, Ohio, through his high school years. Because his father encouraged him to participate in sports, he was not only a member of the city baseball team, but was also a 5' 11 , 150-lb. quarterback on the Varisty football team. After his high school graduation, Mr. Heiby attended General Motors Institute in Flint, Michigan. Upon graduation in August of 1957, he enlisted in the service, and during this time spent 18 months in Germany. Upon returning in 1959, Ed Heiby took a job as 4
