Seniors s use s l In Retrospection Activity and achievement have been the vvatchvvords of the Class of '4l. , ln our freshman year vve ranked first on the college roster, and several members of our group received recognition through A Cap- pella and debate. , As sophomores vve made our presence felt on the campus by winning the major basketball tournament and the Vista snap- shot contest. The year '39-'40 found us busily preparing for the junior- Senior Banqiuet, at vvhich time vve escorted the seniors to the astronomical vvorld. A fine spirit of cooperation characterized the activities of the senior year. Many of our number held leading positions on the campus and practically everyone participated in some activity -forensic, student administration, religious life, music, science, or journalism, The Skip-l-like, lvlove-Up Day, and Class Night Pro- gram comprised a great deal of the activity of this year. COLLEGE GRADUATES Yours is a rich heritage indeed When YOU graduate YOU Wlll be the lone representative of one hundred and forty boys and girls who vvere vvith you in the grade chool Some seem to drift into college Those vvho do usually go out the same vvay Some drift out before their time for only one out of eight vvho go to college remains to graduate The percentage in Greenville is higher The fevv drifters vvho remain usually go out still drifting never to set the vvorld on fire Others must fight to reach college and remain there Many of these leave college ever fighting and reaching one success after another Many vvould give all they possess for your opportunity to go to college Perhaps that is vvhy you are here because ou are giving your all lf so you vvill succeed Such vvhole hearted devotion to a purpose cannot go unrevvarded Then dont indulge in self pity lust remember that this too is adding to the development of your best self My heartiest congratulations to you who are graduating from college ef-QW?
