To whom shall we, the Class of 1983, dedicate our yearbook? This question is not as simple as it sounds; nor should it be. To better answer it, first let's define what dedication is. Dedication, according to Websters New Collegiate Dictionary, is de- fined as self sacrificing devotion. Some classes have no doubt in their collective mind who this quality may describe for them. In this class, how- ever, that was not the case at all. We all had our own ideas. So in- stead of settling for a compromise the Beachcomber staff decided to leave it up to each individual 1983 graduate who holds this book in his her hand. Indecision was not the sole reason why this alternative was formulated though, for there were a few other factors. As the years go by and one looks back on his her High School career, many different incidents, friends, coaches, teachers, and events come to mind. They are all worth cherishing and remembering; and to name just one fond memory or per- son is to lessen the importance, hu- mor, or impact of the next. Although the yearbook can't illus- trate all the memories each student may have, we hope it will aid in re- membering what many people de- scribe as some of the best years of your life.
