We are the seventh graders of '77! And the seniors of '82! The years yet to come will never be forgotten, But instead, cherished forever. CATHLEEN CAREY Greenport High School welcomes yet another group of 7th graders to its Jun- ior High. This year the Junior High classes received privileges which they never had before. The election of class officers was one. The 7th grade elected Greg Zehner as president, Fred Gordon as vice president, Theresa Santacroce as sec- retary and Adam Watson as treasurer with Miss Mastroianni as their advisor. An- other privilege was representation in Student Council. Representatives for the 7th grade were Fred Gordon, Scott Mangham, Ken Black, and Susan Jaworecki. We, the graduating class of '77, would like to say Good Luck to the graduating class of '82. GROUND: R. Rock, K. Gaffga, L. Charland, B. Campbell, D. Van Etten. SEATED: J. Shelby, C. Giles, J. JUNE, 1987 vO NJ AND NOW, A LIVE REPORT FROM WGHS RADIO: Hi, fans! This is the WGHS Purple Peeper doing an on the spot report from the school gymnasium. Right now, I am at the 10th reunion of the Class of '77. The big event is being held here in memory of their Junior Prom, music you hear in the background is from Chuck Corwin's International Dance Band. I was told by Chuck's agent, Larry McAfee, that the band is celebrating its third gold record tonight. What a party this is! It makes me sad that GHS doesn't have a TV station yet so we could show it to you. But I see that Mr. Adams and his AV crew are here so I quess there'll be a video tape of it. I can't believe all the celebrities here tonight. Hey, there goes George Hubbard, the Shell Answer Man. He and his lovely wife from East Marion are with Ms. Shari Damiani who made the egg salad what it is today. A sigh arises from the crowd as Michael Jaworecki enters the gym. Mike is the debonair gentle- man who advertises Brut cologne from garbage cans. He is with Christopher Rowsom, the man who recently circumnavigated the globe in his Puffer. Over at the far basketball hoop are some familiar faces. Michael Bondarchuk, winner of this year's Oscar for audio and lighting effects, is speaking with D. O. B., Jr., the star of Weedie for the Defense. Visiting from her home in Chile is linguist Pamela Helinski. She is here with Sheryl Droskoski, the owner of Perfect Magazine Subscription Co. Now I spy another man with them. He is holding a large 1 eddy Bear. I think it is Gary Blasko. es, Jr. Peeper has confirmed that it is Mr. Blasko. Junior has also told me that he is ready to start reporting from the arrival area. So, I am going to turn the show over to him. Thanks, P. P. Oh, good. Here is Cathy Corazzini alighting from her chauffer-driven Rolls. I guess she never did get her license. With her is the president of General Motors, Patty Sage. The Bobsey twins are greeted by the hostess, Jana Young. Ms. Young's escort just bent down to greet the ladies. Sorry to break in on you, Junior, but I have just noticed three Olympians from the 1984 games. Norm Stilley, captain of the U. S. Wrestling team, is talking with Mr. Connolly, still the GHS Senior adviser. There's Ray Mazz., winner of five goldies in skiing. I think he is advertising his new lodge to Mary Kelly. Ms. Kelly lead the U. S. Basketball and Volleyball teams to victory. I hear she now teaches bionic phys. ed. at Greenport. Thinking of the athletes, the big sports news of today is that Rich Welch beat his own record today as he ran the mile in ONE MINUTE. That's the reason he's not here tonight. Over on the bleachers are two medical pros. There's world famous surgeon Jeanine Frumenti talking with her number one lab technician, Priscilla Car- penter. Probably talking shop. . .Hey! What's the noise out there, JR.? It's the new arrivals, P. P. They're straight from Broadway. Here's A1 Martinsen escorting actress Nancy Zehner. She's the one who got her start doing Noxema shaving commercials. Al, by the way, is the latest winner of the Tony for originality. He got it for his Broadway sensation---a musical for non- singers. A1 starred and directed it. There's his agent, Mark Getches pushing back the crowd. Mark produced the play which is called Being Grandoise in the Barnace. The three are being greeted by their classmates and especially by Sue Gladding and Rick Rempe. Sue, so I hear, runs a nursery and elemen- tary school down in Pennsylvania with Kathy Parrish. It's such a success that poor Kathy couldn't get away for this party. Mr. Rempe is the famous supporter of Z. P. G. and Planned Parenthood. He also organized this party which is probably why it is such a huge success. Hey, Jr. The entertainment is beginning. I see Emcee Keith Bainbridge is mounting the band stand. Keith is the morning disc jockey on '77 WABC radio. According to my program, the first act is going to be John Spohn, the eminent professor of Japanese at M. I.T. He is going to do his famous Yugoslavian Pocket Dance. Cheering Mr. Spohn are some of Greenport's prominent citizens. There's J. J. Bogden the maritime millionaire. With him is Perry Corazzini, the presi- dent of Arshamomaque Dairy, and Greg Luce. Perry and Greg live on adjoining plantations outside of Greenport. And swapping car stories, I see B. T. Heaney and Jerry Bondarchuk, greenport's auto tycoons. B. T. 's Chevy dealership is across the street from Jerry's lot for small cars only. I was told they made this arrangement one day during their senior year. Dressed to the hilt is lawyer Carl Schott. And there is Andrew Ciupryk who teaches English 4 at Greenport. Oh yes, Mike O'Brien's among the gents. Mike made quite a name for himself last winter with all those awards for his interesting snow-art creations. Enough of the men! I see that Jeanine's and Priscilla's group has grown. Sue Van Wyck and Carmen Jimenez are over there exchanging some gossip. Nancy, Sue and Barbara Mangham, the Southold Town social worker, has also joined the clique. Checking back to the floor show, I see that Ms. L. Patten, star of the Louisianna Liz Musical Hour is going to do a few numbers. After that there will be a fashion show given by models from the J. C. Yates House of Fashion. Hey, P. P. Did you see Dan Vindigni on his last leave home? Unfortunately, he couldn't get away from swabbing the decks of the Eagle for this. He was elected chief of the Eagle Hose during his last leave. You know, Junior, quite a few '77ers couldn't make it here. A1 Dinizio is in the Italian Alps. The Italian Ski Team has its preliminaries and A1 is hoping for revenge on Ray in 1988. Chris Egert is out trying to find the farthest point from Greenport and Denise Walters is living in Switzerland. At last reports, Rich Loeb was still trying to hitch a ride to the party. Oh, here are some late guests. Poor Maria Apidopoulos, the high school secretary, was sure everyone was here. Anyway, it is Maureen Archer, the first female to win the Indy 500. She's stopping to chat with Wes Ruroede and sign his cast. We all saw Wes last week on Wide World of Sports. He jumped 250 railroad ties. Behind Maureen I see Connie Solomon. She is the co-owner of Florida's most thriving housing development. She and her partner, carpen- ter Peter Clark, built homes with tropical fish aquariums in the walls. Their next project is a revamp of Brecknock Hall. Good Grief! More late arrivals. I see Karen Lauben who owns one of the most popular art galleries in NYC. She's visiting with local artist, Nancy Gor- don Ryan at her studio in Orient. With them is Karen Rouse who seems to be the reason that they are late. It appears that Ms. Rouse overslept. Well, Junior, the party seems to be getting into full swing. Leading the crowd is Mr. D. Boyle and his delegation from the Greenport chapter of Partiers Anon. There's Ralph Soto and his brother-in-law, Wayde Manwaring. And there are two Greenport matrons, Paula Manwaring Sypher and Rita Gebhardt who married the Man from Spaz. Hear that commotion? It's the owner of the IGA, J. C. Busso, and of course, George Lekkas, fresh from the filming of the Greek Connection based on his own life story. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, this is some party. But you aren't the only ones missing it. Debbie Gaffga married into the Navy and is living on a base in the Great Lakes area. It was quite a shock to J. C. when she abandoned her career at the IGA. Peggy Sloan is on tour with the New York Ballet. Multi- millionaire Bill Mellas is out expanding his chain of Paradise Sweet Shops and Sabrina Stilley married her dear doctor and now lives above his Park Avenue Office. Junior, what's the matter with Jay Lorenzo? I just saw him and he looked like he just escaped from the Soviets! It's not like the head electrical engineer of Hobart Manufacturing Co., sideloading dishwasher dept., to be that upset. .. .oh., I see. He arrived with Dave Fuchs, the Ford Tough Truck Tester. Now I understand. Hey, wait a minute. No you can't tie me up in the cord. Now cut that... Excuse me, fans. Just some little kiddies trying to say hello. The ten of them belong to Ms. Lessa Reynolds. God help you, ma'am. And I hear that Sabrina Beckwith and her brood will be here shortly. Excuse me while I prepare myself. You do that P. P. I can handle it. Comparing their jewels are Debra Wilson and Joyce Lakowitz. Debra is having a house warming party at her five story mansion. Everyone's invrteu! Joyce is the lady who made famous the expression Redheads DO have more fun! She is married to the Greenport Sunoco heir. Munching on the hard roll and boiled ham supplied by J. C. are Suzanne Kruszeski and Sheilah Heaney. Hearing their giggles, I feel that they are dis - cussing something that Sheilah left out of her best-seller, Which Heaney Are You? Sheilah now lives in Ireland to escape yearbooks and the income tax. I hear that Sue is going to coach the Hampton Bays hockey team. Let's hope Ms. Kelly can talk her out of this foolishness! That group of ladies on the bleachers is ever increasing. I now notice dental assistant Wanda Hutley talking with Karyn Shelby. Karyn, who supplied the pizza here from her local Patio Pizza chain store, is here with her sister-in-law, Beatrice Owens. I also see legal secretary Dawn Volinski among the ladies. Tilings all seem the same. I guess people never change. As the final act of the floor show, Kristine Giuliano is going to entertain us with her pet snakes.---Oh, no, I think that all ten of the ladies on the blea- chers just fainted and there's a rush for the door. So, if you don't mind, I'll sign off and get the out of here! This is the Purple Peeper... And Junior Peeper... .. .bidding you a fine farewell from the GHS gym and what's left of the class of '77 reunion. The music you hear in the background is the Greenport chapter of Partiers Anon., all partied out, making their way to Rick's house. BYE, ALL ! !
