Juniors The Class of 1962 began their Junior year with a good start. At their class officers’ elections they chose the following officers: David Ott, president; Fred Axelson, vice-president; Adrienne Moskovey, secre- tary; Wendy Bie, treasurer. The Student Council rep- resentatives selected were Melania Lakowitz and Alan Horton. 1960’s Juniors became the only class in Green port’s history to choose a class ring style that would be the permanent Greenport School Ring. The Juniors se- lected a military ring, one side to bear the image of a clipper ship, the other a replica of the school building. The rings are of gold with a plain stone. 1960 has been a good year financially for the class of '62. The Junior’s first endeavor was a car wash at Hubbard’s gas station. The Halloween Dance was met with overwhelming approval by the student body. This was followed by the Valentine Dance. The height of the year’s social whirl was of course, the successful Junior-Senior Prom. The Juniors had high hopes of retaining the crown at the Annual Quiz Show. This year the representa- tives were again David Ott and Wendy Bie. Many Juniors have participated in the school's extra-curricular activities. The Juniors were well rep- resented in football, basketball, baseball and track. Also, many were members of the chorus and band. The Class of 1962 eagerly awaits their Senior year. They hojx to combine scholastic ability with physi- cal adeptness and become a class that will contri- bute something to Greenport High School. Horton, C. Ciochetto, Mr. Mclndoe, L. Reiter.
