Se tio% VCay It was Saturday, November 22, at 8:00 P.M. The place — backstage in the Greenport High School Auditorium. Only 15 minutes left before the curtain would open on the last performance of our senior play, Archie Andrews. After many rehearsals and two performances, we finally felt like veteran actors, but even veteran actors get a little stage fright before a performance. As we nervously paced in the wings, we looked back on the six hectic but hilarious weeks of rehearsal. We could see again all of our problems: the way we stumbled around the stage at first — the first time we tried all three acts without scripts — the doorbells that didn't ring at the right times — the same scene we could never get right, and Mr. Clark saying, Speak to the clock! — Face the audience! — Stay in character!!! This reminiscing helped to pass the time, and suddenly, it was 8:15, and we were on! Almost before we realized, it was all over except for the relieved laughter, the crowded make-up room, and the party. Now everything is over, and the only thing we have left is the memories. But our class can always look back with pride on Archie Andrews.
