We have been reaching through the spectrum, that vast range of qualities, activities, and ideas As graduating seniors, we would like to take this opportunity to thank the faculty, administration, and staff for their support, guidance, and teaching which is so invaluable The Class of 1982 now leaves GCS as we step into that worldwide spectrum, carrying with us many happy thoughts and memories of Greene Central 3 Dedication Throughout our lives we are surrounded by the colors of the spectrum These colors follow our days, shining through in our happiest moments, and dimming slightly in our hours of hopelessness and sadness. To us, the class of 1982, the person to whom we are dedicating this yearbook represents the most brilliant of all colors on our spectrum Shining through when it seemed impossible, he brightened his light when all others were dimmed to us As we depart from Greene Central we leave behind our love and respect to a man who is very spe- cial in our eyes We hope his color never fades, for what the world needs is more colorful people like DON RYALL 5 Yesterday we said good-bye. It will always seem like yesterday. For true friends never leave us once they have touched our hearts. Brian is a very real part of us. His smile is an everlasting image in our thoughts. His laugh, an ever present sound in our minds. Never dwell on Brian's absence from our class. Always focus on the happiness he brought so many. Our countless happy memories of Brian are an everiasting |oy that we, the Class of 1982, will cherish forever. Yesterday was a time to Look toward the future And to wonder what It would bring us. Now we look back. And the past is so crystal clear. As we gaze more closely Through the windows of time. We see our memories. And in the mirage Stands a friend, not forgotten. Stolen by a tragedy not foretold. As seniors, we look back upon Bruce's life, and we remember not the Tragedy but the happiness he Shared in his life with us. Coming to the United States I naturally expected many cultur- al and social differences, but I was also in for a few pleasant surprises The most significant difference was that in our education system School rules and regulations are far more stringent and the punishments more severe in South Africa. I was happy to see that the same school spirit is present in American schools, almost to a larger extent Although I will be graduating with the class of '82, I will be spending an extra 4 months in school next year so I would like to take this opportunity to wish this year's graduates all the best for the future Yes, I have been made to feel very welcome in Greene and have especially my host families and the Ro- tary Club to thank I know that I will enjoy the rest of my stay in Greene, so much so, that I'm sure leaving here will be just as diffi- cult for me as it was leaving home Derek Veenstra South Africa It has been lots of fun so far and I am really looking forward for this spring and summer. I wish the class of 1982 all the luck in the future. Kind regards.
