★ ★ ★ The Spirit °f Seventy-Six HORNBOOK Of EIGHTEENTH CENTURY Greene Central School Greene, N. Y. Volume 37 1 Table of Contents Page Dedication--------------------------------3 Introduction-------------------------------4 Faculty------------------------------------9 Classes-----------------------------------27 Seniors-----------------------------------51 Sports -..................................83 Activities-------------------------------115 Advertisements---------------------------126 Epilogue---------------------------------139 2 200years — a Bicentennial 12years — a High School Education 40 weeks — one brief School Year Time is such a strangely wonderful commodity. Dispensed in front of us in seemingly endless supply, it seems to slip away all too readily. A t occasional moments we pause to reflect on the use which we have made of the time behind us and on the hopes which we have for the time before us. Our Nation pauses this year to reflect on our past — to assess the values to be found in 200years of history and to chart a path into the future. As Seniors, we pause to reflect on our past 12 years in school — to think of all the things that we have learned and done and of all the people who have taught us and done things for us. We look ahead to new challenges with the hope that we have been somehow prepared by our experiences here, by the many people we have encountered, by the things we did with them, by the things which we will remember about them and because of them. It is to one such individual that we turn with our yearbook. We recognize in this dedication the many years you have spent on us — the numerous things you have done to us and for us. We can realize that it has not always been easy or fun, but we hope that — as you leave Greene Central with us —you will believe that the time was well spent. We trust that your retirement will be as much a challenge to your future as it is a reward for your past 34 years. With deep admiration and respect we dedicate this Spirit of Seventy-Six to ROLAND F. WOLFORD MRS. THOMSON MR. CRAFT MR.STANTON President Greene Central School Board Education MRS. MOXLEY DR. GILROY REV. ROBINSON MR. FLANAGAN 8 ADMINISTRATION FACULTY STAFF On ihe weekend of February 5 and 6 the Board of Education sponsored a workshop involving all aspects of the school system to identify and address many of the problems which the district faces now and which will affect the district in years to come. Students, faculty from both elementary and high school, administrators, and Board members spent two days of intensive study and discussion on these areas and formed committees to bring back to the school at large an effort to work positively on our current and long term challenges. 10 Administration JAMES L.
