TRIBUTE TO A FRIEND 20 TEACHER-OF-THE-YEAR AWARD 1970 Achievement represents recognition - a mark of success. The man to whom the Student Council dedicates i's Teacher of the Year Award was a man of many achievements. He was a husband, a father, a soldier, a citizen, and, for us, a teacher. He was all these things. But, perhaps his greatest achievement was the universal regard in which he was held by everyone who knew him. We appreciated his sense of humor. We responded to his unfailing optimism, to the attitude that the world was good. We relished his basic head-on approach to life. So this award is given to honor a man for what he was and for what he taught us life could be. It is with sincere appreciation that this year's award is presented to Mr. Donald Crittenden MR. DONALD CRITTENDEN (1929-1970) It is not the length of a man's life that counts; rather it is its quality. Randy Crittenden accepted the award for his father.
