Always the problems - or it may be the same problem - will be presented to every generation in different forms. - Sir Winston Churchill The future does not belong to those who are content with today. Rather it will belong to those who can blend vision, reason, and courage in a personal commitment. - Robert F. Kennedy Therefore, in the future let us dedicate ourselves to achieving peace and to solving the problems our generation faces. - The Class of 1971 3 OPPORTUNITY They do me wrong who say I come no more When once I knock and fail to find you in. The man to whom the Student Council dedicates i's Teacher of the Year Award was a man of many achievements. He was a husband, a father, a soldier, a citizen, and, for us, a teacher. He was all these things. But, perhaps his greatest achievement was the universal regard in which he was held by everyone who knew him. We appreciated his sense of humor. We responded to his unfailing optimism, to the attitude that the world was good. We relished his basic head-on approach to life. So this award is given to honor a man for what he was and for what he taught us life could be. It is with sincere appreciation that this year's award is presented to Mr. Donald Crittenden MR. DONALD CRITTENDEN (1929-1970) It is not the length of a man's life that counts; rather it is its quality. Randy Crittenden accepted the award for his father. SENIORS We cannot change yesterday . . . That is quite clear. So begin on tomorrow Before it is here. Then what is the best for you and for me Is to make today as complete as can be. 21 CLASS OF 1971 OFFICERS President: WILLIAM WEEKS Vice-Pres: TERRY LINDBLOM Secretary: LINDA CAPRA Treasurer: WAYNE BASA SENIOR HEADS OF ORGANIZATIONS: Jeanne Wright: Athletic Association; Kenna Root: Band; David Amell: Yearbook Editor, Footlight Society; Jean Raymond: Student Council; Marc Gagnon: Audio- Visual Club; Martha English: Honor Society, Color Guard Captain; Nancy Church: Band Front; Gordon Daniels: Boys Leaders Club, Varsity Club; Edwin Douglas: Celia Workers; William Bryant: Ski Club FOREIGN EXCHANGE STUDENTS Jusara Camara from Brazil Daniel Gianni from Argentina SENIOR HOMEROOM TEACHERS Mrs. Hoag, Class Advisor Mr. Mazzitelli, Mr. ford, Mr. Johnson 22 MRS.
