As each year passes at Greene Cen- tral, records are made only to be broken by succeeding classes. The Class of 1963 has continued to fol- low this pattern. A fine class, showing exceptional growth throughout the year, cul- minating in record-breaking final achievements. The Board of Education congratu- lates each and every one of you and wishes you continued success in the years ahead. George G. Raymond, Jr., President GREENE CENTRAL SCHOOL BOARD

P.T.A. SEATED: Mrs. L. Oles, Mrs. R. Fraser, Mrs. E. Bailey, Mrs. P. Marlin. STANDING: Mr. W. Evans, Mr. R. Crittenden, Mrs. R. Crittenden, Mrs. D. Buckley, Rev. D. Buckley, Mrs. L. Huttleston, Mr. D. Muzzy. An old Chinese proverb teaches us that it is better to light a candle than to curse the darkness. You, graduates of 1963, live in a stirring time far removed from the world we knew. From your readings in American History you have learned about many noble experiments in America. I would include the P.T.A. in any listing evpr made. This organization involves the great trinity of public education - the parent, the teacher, and you, the student. It cleaves to no single social level and kowtows to no caste de- termined by economic profit. Its goal is better students taught by better teachers in better schools. That's the American way - to try to provide you, our finished product, more than we ourselves had. Lamentation has never been our province. You, the class of 1963, must be the future candle lighters, especially in our present day world, where there is so much darkness. In performing your duties, may our congratulations, prayers and hopes go with you. William J. Evans
