Three foreign languages-El Espanol, .atina, and Le Francais-are offered at '.H.S. Approximately 125 students make lp the language department, which is headed Miss Minna Mae Bartley. Pupils learn t only vocabularies and grammar but also ne customs and the history of the foreign ountry. English is a requirement for Freshmen, ophomores, and Juniors. These underclass- ien are placed into academic or general ourses and are taught one semester of rammar and one of literature. College- ound seniors may take both Grammar and 'omposition and English Literature. Mrs. tharlotte Peterson directs the department 9hich includes 475 students.
