They call us the beat generation. We have been told that we do not have the inclination, desire, nor ability for development, progress, or work. As members of this so-called defeated group of society, we students of Greencastle High School would like to present an altogether different view of the youth of today. ln our school system we have witnessed ex- pansion through an increased enrollment, new fac- ulty members, new courses, and new textbooks from which to study new theories and ideas. Our athletic, club, social and academic programs have been re- vised and reorganized to function more efficiently. Finally, we have watched the growth of an idea be- come the realization of a dream in the building of our new school. We point with pride to our student sponsored community projects, to individual and group achievements and awards, to an increased interest in continuing our education and training in the future. Indeed, these are not the marks of a beaten generation, they are signs of progress and positive indications that. . .
