g A1 We Could have danced all nlght to the music of the Spotllghters and stlll have begged or l'T1OI'6 The Popular Calypso beat was the theme of the decoratnons nn the DePauw Unron Bunld mg for the Junuor Senlor prom May lO l957 A gannt Calypso drummer turned round and round whale the Purdue Spotlrghters provided dance Musrc As the evening progressed refreshments were served and Kung and Queen Burgle Remsburg and Joyce Ewnng were crowned At the maglc hour of mldnught the set tmg changed to gay Paree as we journeyed to the National Guard Armory for the Post prom actrvltles sponsored by the merchants o the communrty The Post Prom Gazzette was dlstrubuted and many of us were delnghted to see our names In a foreign newspaper We were served refreshments by jolly wanters and had our plctures taken with our dates Some excellent entertainers performed for us with a variety of acts All too soon lt was three oclock tame for a breakfast of doughnuts and coffee or milk and the end of another prom. Calypso Joe beats out the rhythm
