The new trend in girls' shoes was the black and white rock 'n roll saddle. The boys seemed to be tired of their crew-cuts and tried different hair styles in ducktails and flat-tops. Girls' hair cuts were evenly divided between short and long styles. Crew- neck sweaters for girls were popular, as well as for boys. Boys and girls alike were seen in bulky-knit sweaters, the boys liked bright colors and ski design, while the girls preferred white. All and all the guys and gals of G.H.S. were a well dressed group.
