First was the boys' home room basket ball race. There were twelve teams entered I gn!! .gpovfa Probably never before has there been so great a need to develop in high school youth the spirit of competition and the will to win The element of competition pres ent in team play and sports is a constructive force in all round' development, and only those sports that contribute to this phase have been included in this wartime pro gram Many of the much loved games such as ping pong, badminton, horseshoes, duck pins, have been omitted because considerable skill is required before maximum value is secured The activities this year have been in volley ball, basket ball, softball, track and field Awards in G1rl's Sports Senior Honor Jacket Kathleen Ragsdale Varsity G Kathleen Ragsdale Girlr Athletic Association Senior Jacket Betty Barnett Jean Eitelgorge Dorothy Evens Ellen Ferguson Judy Friend Rosalie Hutcheson Kathleen Ragsdale Dorothy Rossock Hariett Sellers 21 Kathleen Ragsdale .
