unior 641:56 ,jfkfilory Un September 4, 1945, the class of 1947 eagerly climbed the steps of C. H. S. to take its place as upperclassmen. VVe elected class officers on September 14. with Yerda Wfilliams and James Rarnhart representing us on the Student Council. A meeting was called on October Q, at which time we decided to purchase class rings. Alter the samples arrived on Qctober 25, we voted for our class rings, and we are now anxiously awaiting their arrival. XVe had a Christmas tree and party in each of our home rooms. After We exchanged gifts, delicious refreshments were served and we happily wished every- one Merry Christmas as we parted for the holidays. The president called a meeting on january 25, when we selected our class colors, class flower, and class motto. Xlfe chose our class hat, pennant, and emblem on February 7, and later we chose our class song. Our class play Three Girls and jeffrey was presented on April II and 12, under the direction of Mrs. Toms. The members of our class participated in many school activities throughout the year. Thirteen juniors made up the cheering squad which enthusiastically sup- ported G. H. S. athletic contests. ,Xnd now as the end of our busy year is in sight. we are looking forward to next year, when we will return as seniors to finish our high school education. Seventeen
