A Prophecy Well, today was certainly a Historical Date. The graduating class of 30 years ago decided to have a reunion. Invitations were sent out by JANE who is the Math teacher at the class's high school. She took the position that MR. KOCH had held for so many years . Poor chap, may God rest his aching bones, he could- n't stand any more of it. DALE URISH, our man QBUMJ about the town, was on the entertainment committee and acquired DONALD KOHLBACHER and his jazz band for the entertainment. What a band!! If they had hit one right note in the entire evening I'd have been surprised. ED TIMKE, coach of Bradley University was the guest of honor celebrating his NO LOSS record at the University. JERRY HOEFT, president of Hoeft, Hoeft, Hoeft, and another Hoeft, Inc., who had many outside connections, agreed to get a beautiful ballroom for the reunion. ED brought BRUCE PARKS with him . He was ED'S star baseball player at the University. WAYNE WEYHRICH was there and fate had surely played a differ- ent hand for him . He always wanted to be a machinist but instead he inherited a great amount of money from an unknown Uncle and became a millionaire playboy. I remember that a lot of girls back in 56 said their ambitions were to be secretaries but by the sound of all the kids, I would say that something had changed their minds . IRMA and JUDITH came with their broods . Lucky girls, they hfa-d-their husbands so henpecked that they didn't have to take care of their kids . JANICE , I-IAZEL , and EVELYN were sure having a time with their rich daddies whom they ac- quired through their secretarial careers . They were so wrapped in furs and diamonds, etc., that you couldn't even tell who they were . MARCELLA and EMILY were secretaries for JERRY HOEFT'S giant corporation and were doing all right for themselves . I remember that poor WILBUR KITCHELL, it was sure sad when he came. He always had his heart set on being a chemist but all the farther he got was testing milk on the farm. I had quite a time talking over old times with LEWIS NANNEN, who was head of the English department at Bradley. A big Car-O- Plane which practically took up two parking meter spaces drove up and who do you think stepped out when the Chauffeur opened the door? None other than CARL ZILCH, he was an architectural en- gineer and really making the money . Last but not least, I must mention GERALDINE who was terribly late but it takes quite a while to get 10 kids washed and dressed when you work until 5:00 each evening. All in all a good time was had by all and an- other reunion was set for five years from now . CAn actual excerpt from J. R.
