Prosecution charges the defendants with MURDER. They have been killing time for ten years! 'And now the defendants will take the stand. Richard latts, step forward please! lhat have you to say in your defense?' 'Not guilty, sir! For the pest ten years I have been profit- ably employed on m father-1nflaw's farm. My cute l1'1 wife Cblonde, of course? and I have been very busy raising--chickens? I swear sir, I haven't been killing time, but I'd sure like to kill my car. Cars may cone and cars may go, but my chevie goes on forever.' 'Marjorie Schlyer, take the stand, please.' 'I'm sorry judge, I rushed right over when I heard I 'as to testify in my behalf. I came right from work. D1dn't even have time to change. ly place of employment is the Schmower'a model' ing Agency. lhy judge! This is all I have to show in my defense. 'Shirley Baysinger, take the stand.' 'Now look here sonny boy, I mean your honor, don't order me around! Your son is in my English class. lhat would happen if your wife knew about that escapade of ours at the Phil-Kron the night of our banquet?' 'Not guilty, step down.' 'And now Lyle Ingersoll, take the etand.' 'I d1dn't do lt, I d1dn't do it, and I've got an alibi! For- the past ten years I've been flying rockets. I'm the Rocketfeller of the rocket business. lhat a rocket! I just invented a new type of rocket. Got the inspiration from my old car. I used to go around corners on one wheel. ly rocket goes around planets on one jet. lxcuae me judge. Got a date in five minutes on Venue. Gotta stop at lars to get her some flowers.' 'Next witness: Frances Clauser--lheel the patient ia.' 'I'm sorry, judge. Just got out of the doctor's office. I just happened to eat some of my students' cooking from my Home Bc class. I'm not guilty--gasp, gaap!' 15 Ccont.! 'Dr. Carol Luft, Psychiatrist take the stand.' 'Now judge, just relax and answer these fav questions and we shall get to the bottom of this er1me.' 1. If your right eye is looking north, can your left eye look south? It can't? 2. Can you pat your stomach and rub your head at the same time? You can't? 'Hy questioning has proven that you are guilty. Since you can do none of these things, you have been killing time. le charge you, judge, with MURDER.' v CLASS HISTORY One bright and sunny morning in September of 1946 ten lime- green freshmen entered through the pass gate of Green Valley Community High Reformatory. About a month or so later one member made a break and was thus sent to a bigger reformatory. Marilyn Christie may be found at Pekin High, now. Things passed on rather smoothly until our sophomore year. I guess things must have been terribly dull because three in-mates left us for no good reason at all. Now you may find Jim Skaggs around, JoAnn Runyon may be found on her father's farm east of Green Valley, and Mary lou Hartwig is now Mrs. Joseph Berchtold. Our junior year passed rather uneventfully. le put on our first play 'Bsckwoods Romeo' on April Fool'a Day of 1949. I do believe we had more fun during play practices than ever during our high school days. lhen we were put on parole last summer we all worked hard and behaved like sweet angels. lell, we did! And now as we approach our final release from the dearly beloved school we see that our senior year was one of many good natured arguments and fights. we gave 'Brides to Burn' as our Senior play, made big plans for our skip day in Chicago, and had a lot of fun in reminiscing about the days gone by. 16 TI I' 1 I . 034' H V' 'i II ' W y-:T s' X4 X!-'f i-' gif 12.2 - , A' 14 Xa his 'ka -Ivana L, l,.4Pu1',L' wI. 3 f I5 FI I ' ' I I Wifi 52,525 411 ' .
