Mrs. Howell and Mr. Roberts. Mr. L E Benson In Memonam Mr L E Benson affectronately known as Benny came to Green Spr1ngs 1n the fall of 1945 to f1ll the posltlon of pr1nc1pal and coach 1n our local school Mr Benson was born ln Hancock County Oh1o on August 15 1906 He was a graduate of L1berty Townshlp School 1n Hancock County He attended SIX Oh1o colleges They were Bluffton College Oh1o State Un1 vers1ty Heldelberg College Oh1o Umverslty Flndlay College and W1ttenberg College He had a vast amount of exper1ence 1n workmg among people rn 1ndustry as well as teachmg and coach lng He taught chemlstry phys cs sclence and mathematlcs and physlcal educatlon Mr Benson was a man of few words but when he set out to do somethmg he always accompllshed It He was a man who was l1ked and respected by everyone who knew h1m HIS athletes the boys w1th whom he worked the most can not begm to tell you how much they loved and respected hlm the Blble The Lord ts my shepherd I shall not want He maketh me lze down m areen pastures He leadeth me beside the stzll waters He 'restoreth my soul He leadeth me m the paths of rzqhtcous 'ness for Hts name sake Yea though I ualk through the valley of the shadow of death I wzll fear no eml for Thou art wzth me Thy rod and Thy staff the: comfort me Thou armomtest my head with ozl my cup rurmeth one?
