No Strings Attached Concert Band is an instrumental group composed of thirty-five mem- bers who are mainly freshmen. The group is directed by Mr. Wayne Iiams. The members go into Concert Band after completing the Marching Band season in the fall. This year, there was a change that took place in Concert Band. At the semester change, Concert Band dis- solved, and the members moved into Symphonic Band. This change took place because of the addition of a new Music Theory class. The new combination of Symphonic Band and Concert Band has proven to be an outstanding band made up of sev- eral talented musicians. Symphony In y Motion Symphonic Band has thirty mu- sicians, none of which play strings for this group. They play a variety of types of music. This year, they performed in a concert at Dun- stan Junior High along with other bands from our school, Dunstan and other schools in the area. The group concentrates on sight read- ing and enhancing their musician- Mmr ttsc .YEL Z 4, ship. They play a wide variety of types of music so they can learn to appreciate them and decide which type and style are band members come from different grade levels and therefore some will be gradu- ating soon. Others will be in our music department for another year. W 9 rv Electric Connection If you were to walk into the vocal music room and see rows of girls doing stretching exercises as if they were about to run a marathon, then you should know that you have just walked into a Girls Choir practice, otherwise known as the Electric Connection . Director Rex Nelson puts a lot of emphasis on relaxation Cwith correct posturej while sing- ing. These girls sing a variety of songs.
