Shah is an oriental word meaning King. The game always represented a war be- tween Kings, and to this day still retains th lb't' ttra theoo- e origma o jec ive- o p pp nent's King. Originally and up to the l3th century, the Queen was a Councilor of War or a King's Advisor. More power has been given to her than had been held pre- viously by the Councilor of War or the King's Advisor and she became more pow- erful than any man in the King's army. Equally important are our Kings and Queens who have achieved high honors and brought fame to themselve and, to Greeley High this Year. 1' tg.lQ lllwll xt llllllll 5 Sdofaradip ' The Gold G is the highest award a student can receive at Greeley High.
