Although plans for a community building closed out a sep- arate building the council successfully pushed plans for inclusion in the pro- posed community building. This honorary jour- nalistic organization worked for the advancement of journalism, also finding time to tackle the nation's political and economic problems in its own peculiar brand of group debate. Ten seniors, selected by their class as most likely to make some important contribution to human progress this year com- peted for scholarships offered by the Pepsi-Cola company. Johanna Lindou, one of the ten, placed in the state finals, win- ning a fifty dollar scholarship. For value, as a class, to Greeley High School, the graduating class of '48 was presented with the Color Day plaque. The award is based on scholarship, at- tendance, and participation-adding up to an effective evaluation of the class as a whole. The plaque was received by Bill Allnutt, Senior Class president. Representing a tired but victorious Junior Class, jack Adams and Jane An- drews were crowned king and queen of Color Day. The juniors won both field events and softball game-by one point each.
