Beard Principal The efficiency and hard work of the Greeley High School administration has earned Mr. Beard and his associates the warm thanks of both students and faculty. The administration of the school was expanded this year to include a personnel office. This office, headed by Mr. Biddle and Miss Rhiner, has worked untiringly as a cooperative agency between the students and faculty. The entire administration has made possible the many activities of Greeley High with a commendable minimum of conflicts. X Ethylyne Rhiner Richard A. G. T. Wilson Although students of Greeley High de- pend for the most part upon 'the schoo1's p own administration for relation to the tax paying public, it is the school board and its president who make the policies i and guide their destinies toward a com- plete and useful education. 1 G. Anne has proved herself one of the most active students to go through GHS in many a year, holding offices in GA and GAA, and taking part in such other organizations as Pep Club, the High Light, and the Spud. She was selected as DAR Good Citizen for 1948, and stands high in her class scholastically. Ramon headed the class of 1948 during his junior year, and this year serves as Band president and chairman of the Drives Commission. He led the Greeley High cheering section through football and bas- ketball seasons, and has represented his class as a king candidate at Homecoming and Orange and Black Day. He was state student council president during his senior year. Billie Burnham and Gladys Arm- strong participated in the Girls' State sponsored by the American Legion Auxiliary. The purpose of Girls' State is to inculcate a sense of individual obligation to the community, state, and nation. 6' sfo .S Recognition of good citizenship-a rare virtue rarely rewarded-reaches its height at GHS in the selection of a DAR good citizen. Anne Mor- rison, the class of '48's good citizen, has shown her worthiness by outstanding scholarship and participation as well as citizenship. 0s OF Dolores Moss, reigning beauty of the Junior Prom rules from a glittering Chinese Pagoda surrounded by the orien- tal decorations of the ballroom. Kathy Waugh was elected to the title of Sweater Girl at the Student Council sponsored Sweater Dance by contribu- tions to the current March of Dimes drive. The decorations, before an in- termission of souvenier hunting, were sweater-shaped cutouts on walls and stands. QAM For value, as a class, to Greeley High School, the graduating class of '48 was presented with the Color Day plaque. The award is based on scholarship, at- tendance, and participation-adding up to an effective evaluation of the class as a whole. The plaque was received by Bill Allnutt, Senior Class president. Representing a tired but victorious Junior Class, jack Adams and Jane An- drews were crowned king and queen of Color Day. The juniors won both field events and softball game-by one point each. The Color Day royality was presented to the student body at the close of the day at the GHS auditorium. This honorary jour- nalistic organization worked for the advancement of journalism, also finding time to tackle the nation's political and economic problems in its own peculiar brand of group debate. Ten seniors, selected by their class as most likely to make some important contribution to human progress this year com- peted for scholarships offered by the Pepsi-Cola company.
