4 Y 4 4 4 4 1 1 COMMERCIAL DEPARTMENT The last two years the Commercial students have entered the Colorado State Teachers College Contests We were high point school 1n the District meet held at Cmreeley High last year In the finals we won second and third place in Beginning Bookkeeping and third place in advanced Typewritmg Having had one year s experience and with extra work we hope to take a first place this year In the Contest this year we are entering Ethel Hipps Mary Hunter 'Vlildred Barnard Edna New 'Vlabel Lofgren Louise Strohauer Oscar New Helen Kirby Louphena Davis Otho Northway Evelyn Seal Don Melvin Reva Spaulding Ethel Roberts Freda Schmedt Bertha Berg Lauren Mac Donnell Howell Culbertson Alice Badger Evelyn Looney and Dean Royer This year our department has tried to co operate with the other depart ments by doing Typewriting for them This not only includes stencil cutting and running of the mimeograph and carbon work but we have sent our second year shorthand people to different tea hers to take dictation lf the students can get the practical value from this work then they will be better fitted to do office work lt will not only make them feel dependable will prepare them so they will be able to earn some money while attending eollege I1 enfu 4 1 1 I I i Y . . .
