To the Class of 1968: My sincere congratulations to you on the completion of your basic education. You should be now ready to use the fundamental knowledge you have as a tool to pursue any di- rection you choose. For those of you going directly to work 1 know that you will profit from skills and techniques you have learned via your elementary and secondary schooling. Your high school diploma will open many doors that are otherwise closed. For those of you going to the armed forces I’m sure your knowledge particularly of geography and history will help you to understand better the complex world problems of to- day. As a result I hope you will better understand the need to serve your country when called upon to do so. For those of you going on to further education, I know that the ideas you’ve gained will be the basis for further ex- ploration into the thoughts and conclusions of others. Based on this compilation of thinking it is possible for you to come to new conclusions that will be of great benefit to all of mankind. I'm proud of the class of 1968.
