Head Of the 1 10 members of the Great Neck High School faculty, one quarter has been here over 20 years while another quarter has come during the past 2 years. There are over 100 masters degrees among them and almost two-thirds of the group live right here in Great Neck. Upon the completion of the new high school, this group will divide in half—thus “sharing the wealth” between the two schools. This split aroused feelings of nostalgia on the part of many teachers and they reminisced about times past. . . . Miss Colston remembers when the majority of the teachers were from New England or the West. “Now,” she says, “they come from all parts of the United States.” Miss Crandall says that she’s taught under three different superin- tendents and four different principals here. Mr. Laise thinks that “there have been a heap of babies born here” while Mr. Noyes says, “When I came here (1930) the Senior High School was one of four buildings west of Polo Road between Arandale Avenue and Old Mill Road.
