Freshman and Junior Varsity Cheerleading Beginning with vigorous tryouts and long hours of practice, the Fresh- man and Junior Varsity cheerleading squads take shape. Taking the initiative to make their own uniforms, the Freshman squad, sponsored by Miss Karen Berg, proved to be a very talented and pro- ductive group of girls. Attending both football and bas- ketball games gave the Junior Varsi- ty much experience in cheering. Al- though the squad suffered the loss of five girls from their original number, they displayed organization during the basketball season. With new uni- forms and pyramid type cheers, the Junior Varsity, sponsored by Mrs. Gail Harris, led their teams through winning seasons. 1
