Proj cot SECO Simulated Environmental Con- trolled Operations, SECO, introduces its members to aerospace technology and familiarizes them with the work of astronauts. The organization originated in No- vember, 1968, from the interests of John Lancaster and Glenn Connor. In the summer of '69, a simulated space module was constructed. John Lan- caster, Glenn Connor, and Wayne Cooper spent eight days within the module getting the feel of astronaut cramp. Much of SECO's time has been spent in obtaining support for their projects, and so far, the Naval Air Test Center, Patuxent River, Mary- land, has supplied it. They have do- nated technical equipment as well as speakers, who hold seminars on the different aspects of aerospace Work. In addition to the simulated flights, SECO members have partici- pated in a multi-phase training course, sponsored by the Aeromedical branch of Service Test, Naval Air Test Center, and have attended spe- cial programs at other military bases. SECO members are striving to in- corporate a program in the GMHS curriculum, which would be the sixth such program in the United States. 4 p g5,g?g?,..r .1 l CD E ,...-orb' 63?
