The Gaslight Follies With a Gay Nineties setting, in- cluding a noisy peanut gallery, the Class of '71 presented their winter senior play, The Gaslight Follies, on January 15 and 16. The series of three one-act melodramas was high- lighted with special scripting, includ- ing the kidnapping of an entire cast by John Sullivan. Dora the Beautiful Dishwasher, Fireman, Save My Child, and The Great Western Melodrama, were typ- ical old mill plays with typical hero- versus-villain plots. Practices held al- most daily after school and nearly every night until midnight, under the direction of Mr. Richard Thompson, turned the production into a side- tickling, knee-slapping comedy. The behind-the-scenes stage crew, manned by Scott Merchant, Dan Mief sowitz, Tom Leonard, Vickie Hughes, Paul Payne, Gary Potter, and John Sullivan, and the grease paint daub- ers, comprised of Donna Hamann, Ginny Crum, Vickie Hughes, Debbie Ethridge, Patti Cameron, Sherry Al- dridge, and Donna Pall, make-up con- sultant, greatly contributed to the success of the Seniors' theatrical en- terprise.
