CU Flour day, rat day, spirit chains, slave day, and the pep rally all re- flected the spirit of Great Millians during homecoming week. The pageantry of floats built by the classes and organizations pro- vided excitement and color. Emerg- ing as the victors with the winning float, the juniors displayed their im- pression of THE ONLY GAME in TOWN. Following closely in the con- test, seniors and sophomores placed second and third, respectively. Friday night the Hornets met the wrath of the St. Mary's Saints .and despite their valiant efforts were de- feated by a score of 22-16. The half time show commenced with a Span- ish regala, performed by the GMHS band. Susan Wible, voted Homecoming Queen by the football team, was crowned by Harry Ocker. Escorted to the center of the field were Senior princesses Jacki Mills and Ansley Bentley, Junior princess Nancy Rowe, Sophomore princess Esther Aud and Freshman princess Dinah Horton. 1 1 1 C21 The annual Homecoming dance, featured the Butterscotch Valley Freight Train and The Poverty Jive Team. Sponsored by the SGA, this concluded the week's festivities and supplied rhythm for The Only Game in Town. Homecoming 1970- 1971

CD The bon fire, held on Thursday night, was the biggest in Great Mills' history. 125 Odell Smith gains yards on the Saints. A special ceremony commemorated the late Russell Rowe, who gave his life in Vietnam. Russ was a former football player at Great Mills, Class of 1964.
