Win' Amkieuf '-X O Memory So dear to me I cannot let you fleeg I'll take you up A silver Cup Gi sweet Eternity. Pull up a chair Recall a year Of bustling fun and games, Of all the faces And the places, And don't forget the names Of years gone past Forever last The tokens of my youth: The friends I made, The paths I laid, The properties of truth In school I found A starting ground For building my career, And still I find Within my mind Those bluprints bright and clear. I took away Some thoughts today And placed them on a shelfg They made a mirror Of memories dear Reflected at myself. Time flies fast - The die is cast. The model has been made. For all concerned We have lived and learned And prospered where vve played In all respect We should reflect And give the past esteemg What made us then Will make us when We try to make our dream. To prepare For later years We must recall the past . . . Look back upon The times since gone To make forever last. Florence Cline FACULTY ,. Like .1 church without a preacher, Like a fish without the sea, A school without a teacher ls lacking harmony. A fire without destruction Would he a blessed thingy A child without instruction Is a tragic song to sing. The day we lose our leaders Will he a tragic dawn, The day we lose Our teachers Will hring this ill fate on. Florence Cline L4 Administration l-lovv doth our high school principal Bear his heavy load? His duties are so multipleg lt's such a long, long road, Vice Principals are also thereg They, too, have quite a job: They work together as a pair To hold the throbbing mob. All our dandelion days are done and so we'll turn our heads away from every silver morning and every golden day. But sweet Septembefs open arms belonged to us and held us once. Students must be involved in their society, in their community, in their school, and in their friends. Involvement with a group yields distinctive pains and pleasures. Involvement is as broad as understanding is deep. It is five, or a hundred, or one thousand individual souls pulling together. The Student Council Association The purpose of the Student Council is to represent the students' opinions in the administration of the school through the democratic process. lt is also the goal of the SCA to maintain a good relationship among students, teachers, and administrators. The SCA, led by the Executive Committee, has main- tained its position as the most powerful organization in GMHS. Throughout the T970 school year, the Coun- cil has sponsored HOMECOMING WEEK, the new Ac- tivity Calendar, the new Dress Code, and has written a new constitution. l Front Row: Mr. Donald O'Neal 1Co-Advisorj, Glenn Butler, loe Perez, Ginny Crum Ure-asurerj, Patricia Thomas iSecretaryj, Sharon Sachs flfice Presidentj, Diane Vvyrick fPresidentj, left Beard, Tom Gray, Mr, Alan Patrick fatlvisorj, Second Row: Esther Aud, Rebecca Maus, lennifer Williams, Francine Dove, Zelma Elam, Chris Rutland, Donna Whiting, Tom Leonard, Third Row: Linda Clarke, Darlene Taulbee, Elvert Barnes, Linda Gibson, lanett Selph, Ann Barnes, Sharon Russell, ludy Goodard, Sandra Goddard, Starr Costello.
