SCIENCE: Because of the fact of the great scientific age in which we live, our Science Depart- ment is one of the most important depart- ments in our school. Mr. Griffin heads this department that teaches the importance of science as well as scientific principles. MATH: Regardless of what vocation a person pursues, he uses some form of math. Our Mathematics Department teaches one of the necessities of living in a useful society, the various forms of mathematics. Mr. DeFord is the head of the department. SHOP, AGRICULTURE, D.E., D.O.: learning to work with one's hands as well as his mind is important. In our shop, and agriculture classes, we do iust this. In Distributive Education and Diversified Occupations, Mr. Clark teaches his students how to make a living. These students have on the iob experience in a chosen vocation.

Mrs. Creekmore is the head of this department. BUSINESS: Our Business Department is considered one of the most essential parts of our school. Many of us do not have the op- portunity to attend college, and because of the knowledge we have acquired under our teachers, we are able to find our way in the business world. Mr. Gaskins is the head of this department.

22-I I 3 , ,, 1 Ain. 'V P' HOME EC. - LIBRARY: Miss Halstead trains our girls to be home- makers by teaching them in Home Eco- nomics classes to cook, sew, and run a home. Whenever we need books to read or material for a research paper, it is Miss Stallings, our librarian, that we run to. She keeps a pleasant, well-equipped library for each of us to use and enioy. Mauna MUSIC: Our Music Department is composed of Miss Newsom, choral director, and Mr. Martin, instrumental director. The en- deavors of these two fine teachers have gained county-wide recognition for our school. 5' .2 faculty li ts, , PHYSICAL EDUCATION: Physical development and sportsman- ship are the key words that define our Physical Education Department. These teachers are ever striving to better our standing in inter-scholastic athletic com- petition. Health instruction is also stressed in each of our physical education classes, which proves to be a benefit to each student.
