GOSSIP COLUM June 5.1962 We see that ANN DIXON, the recent prize winner on STONEY MARTIN'S quiz program, is riding her new Cadillac. . .Yesterday we saw CURTIS WOOD going into ARTHUR MURRAY'S dance studio, bet he's taking lessons from their new instructor RUBY TUBBS. . .Shopping for a suit, I found that EDDIE PAYNE is men's clothing advisor at Norfolk Undersellers. . .Got a ride in MARVIN CURLING 'S cab today and found he had gotten another ticket from JACK PEOPLES, Norfolk County's outstanding policeman . . . On our recent trip to Washington and New York we saw several people we knew. . .CAROLYN PUGH is the ambassador to Lower Slobovia . . . ROBERT MERCER, the noted politician, is now running for Congress, his private secretary, by the way, is RAYMOND UMPHLETT. Keep an eye on him he's going places. . .JOYCE DAVIS, head of the Treasury Department is still trying to pull it out of thered. . .ln New York we stayed at the Waldorf Astoria and found BARBARA SERMONS in the role of Bookkeeper. . .We dropped in at the Saturday Evening Post's office and found that MERILENE DOZIER is the ioke editor. . .We went nightclubing at an exclusive new club and metits charming hostess BARBARA STYRON . . . During our stay we wanted some publicity stills and found FRANK GRACY at the photographer's, he is a successful model, posing for before pictures in malnutrition ads. His lovely partner in the picture is ISABELLE McNULTY. . .We attended the opening of the Met and saw Wagners' Die Walkure with SHIRLEY SMITH as Brunnhilde...We went to the library to get a copy of EDWARD FULFORD'S new book How To Relax Anmhere from librarian LONNIE HOGGE. . . We attended a lecture by LUCY CREDLE on Public Speaking. . .Returning home we heard about Registered Nurse PAULINE YOUNG'S patient's relapse, HENRY CAHOON whowas recovering from a broken toe suffered when he was struck bya freight train. . . On the sports scene is BILL PHILLIPS, the new Brooklyn Dodger shortstop. . .Saw the Blonde Bombshells and was surprised by the great forward EVELYN SMITH . . . During the last game of Tenn Tech sawa waterboy who showed good form, his name was DURWOOD CURLING. . .Met AUDREY DeBAUN the other day, she's now a Colonel in the Army and can she give orders. . .RAY PROCTOR is the new editor of The Hobo's News. . .EUNICE WOOLARD has replaced Laughing Sal at Ocean View. . .
