ll .ar I Alice Humphreys, English III signs out after a tiring day. Mrs. Crystal Cross, English II teacher, finds joy in taking the daily roll. Mr. John Thorton finds Constitution a very good discussion topic. i 21 Students await future, new horizons sought while traditions linger Sophomores soon embarked on a barrage of number learning: locks and locker numbers, book numbers, folder numbers, and club numbers. Getting involved on the first day of school, sophomore class officers were elected at a special assembly. Anticipating for the future, their first money making project was a concession stand at the Pratt game. The class of 1974 proved to be high-spirited at the 1971-1972 Foot- ball Homecoming parade, when they carried a Mickey Mouse banner, to symbolize their role as the ever-tra- ditional Mickey Mouser. For new teachers, GBHS was a wide open sea. Day by day they be- came acquainted with a new high school life. From fighting the smoke in the faculty lounge to picking out the biggest rolls for their early morn- ing snack, new teachers learned from experience. They fought a losing bat- tle as they vainly struggled to under- stand the pattern behind the ringing of the bells as students passed from class to class. When that pleasant voice interrupted a class discussion, new teachers learned not to frown when they heard, May I have your attention please?
