CHARLES ALLEN JACK SCHMIDT NELL EPPSTEIN HAZEL ERBE President Vice-President Treasurer Secretary UNIDD CLAII f 1936 G.B.H.S., one of the country's great producing houses, has allowed this gigantic undertaking The Class of 1936 to be reviewed, although it is not yet completed. We are offering you a review of the first three reels. The fourth reel is yet to be made, but extensive plans are being prepared for its production which is scheduled for next September. Nine months is the estimated time for actual production. We take this opportunity to say that if the fourth reel is as good as the three we here review, Class of '36 will be one of the best of G.B.H.S.'s efforts, if not the best. G.B.H.S. is fast becoming noted for its four year productions. It's system is somewhat like this: Upon the presentation of certain credentials and certificates, boys and girls desiring work in the company are admitted and assigned to certain productions. With the aid of an able staff, four usually are worked upon at the same time. This show was started in the fall of 1932 with a cast of about 100. Mr. Daniel Boone and Miss Lois YVaples, who need no introduction to C1.B.H.S., were assigned as directors. And now here is the story in three reels of the Class of l936. REEL ONE The Cast of Characters was as follows: Hazel Erbe, president: Charles Allen, vice-president: Jack Schmidt, treasurer: Ralph Essmiller, secretary, and the large supporting cast of the famous C1.B.H.S. boys and girls. Mr. Daniel Boone and Miss Lois Waples were the directors of this stupendous reel. There is one scene which deserves much merit. In the class basketball tournament there were three teams tied for the title. our team had the largest number of points so naturally assumed the title. Another scene is a one act play presented by Myron Davis, Edna Belle Doonan, Mary Ellen Weber, and Mildred Harper. REEL TWO The Cast of Characters of this reel has been changed somewhat but the same four people have the leads. Charles Allen, president: Hazel Erbe, vice-president: Jack Schmidt, secretary: and Ralph Essmiller, treasurer. At the beginning of this reel Miss Waples was called away to another studio to help in the making of another production and her place was very nicely filled by Miss Novma J. Mering. Possibly the most outstanding scene is another one act play presented by Pauline Arnold. Louise Sherwood, Bob Templeton, Don Saunders, and Jack Schmidt. REEL THREE The cast is hardly changed with Charles Allen being the most outstanding star for the second successive reel by being president, Jack Schmidt as vice-president, Hazel Erbe as treasurer, and Nellie Eppstein as secretary. There were many outstanding scenes, in this reel, the first being the winning of the title in the inter-class basketball tournament. Another was a one act play presented by Ralph Essmiller, Bob Templeton, Gwendolyn Trester and Rowland Raup. Perhaps the most outstanding scene was the Junior-Senior' Banquet in which the Class of '36 entertained the Class of '35. Another scene perhaps as outstanding was the presentation of a three act play Here Comes Three Knights. The necessary finances were raised this year by selling Lyceum tickets in which the Class of '36 sold 5270 while the Class of '35 only sold 48 Wa. Tickets were also sold to the three act Junior play. -ROWLAND RAUP. 20
