11 was Q? 0 W 0552! QJQO HELEN RUSSELL EARL THOMPSON Junior President Vice-President LUCILE HANS ALICE ZUTAVERN Secretary Treasurer JUNIOR ROCKS Many years ago, when the Stone Age was in its prime, a tribe called Freshmen came forth to conquer the world, and on their journey halted at the Great Bend High School, intending to remain four years to prepare themselves to go out into the world to do brave deeds and to conquer the diihculties of life. They chose, that year, Cora Harris for their leader. The Freshman Tribe had three other tribes battling against them, but they managed to hold their own. The second year they ascended one more step on this ladder of knowledge and were then known as the Sophomore Tribefwith Max Leek as their chieftain, Then came the third year, and with more knowledge gained they ascended to the third step. Under the leadership of Helen Russell they have had a successful year and now as Juniors have only one rival tribe, the Seniors. During these three years this tribe has had many of its , brave men prominent in the athletic field and this year the tribe has come forth in the dramatic field. In 1930 the tribe will have ascended the four steps of this ladder of knowledge and will leave this battlelield of lessons to go out into the world and accomplish other difficult deeds. -K.
