SENIOR BOULDERS Back in the Stone Ages, men fought hard for what they wanted: foes were conquered and the world moved gradually. Through constant grasping for new things, civilization was established. Today, we. like cavemen, are led by our own ingenuity into things before us. And so it is recorded that the old hunting grounds of knowledge became too small to hold all the tribes of G. B. H. S, The Great Bend bands were fighting hard for a new Held, a place large enough to supply our wants. This new land was opened up in 1925 in our new High School building. The youngest tribe entering this field of learning. but yet the largest, having one hundred and twenty-live young conquerors, was the Class of '29, Our true leaderg Helen Bales, was elected to command this wonderful band. Protection was necessary. and the Lions Club voluntarily appointed themselves as our guardians. The second year in the field was also a gain. J. B. Brown, an able chieftain, was elected President. The Class of '27 tried to overpower us in a conflict but we stood steadfast: at least we won a tin loving cup, which we had engraved at their cost. The third year was a most victorious one: our warriors overpowered all in the battles. Our new leader, Florence Harrison, led us through a most memorable year, and a wonderful banquet was the reward: This year is the last one of the tribe, until it shall disband and unite with greater tribes. The great warrior chieftain, Maurice Barricklow, has led the Class of '29 through the last great year together. As these warriors go out to become leaders in their own field, may they cherish the thoughts of the Held where they were victorious in gaining the foundation of their knowledge. ' -R.
