Advanced Chorus Under the direction of Mr. George the Advanced Chorus was one of the outstanding features of the school during the term. They attended the Sierra Foothill Music Festival in May, r:oving their fine talents, and performed at a concert in Auburn, again showing that they are a worthwhile class. String Quartet These four students displayed great talent during the term. They played for several assemblies and performed for the Rotary Club at a luncheon. The members are, left to right: Betty Campbell, Rena Boynton, Katherine Wayne, and George Boynton. So light on, oh team, 'your glory shall not fade, With stout hearts you'll challenge the foe unafraid, Leading onward and upward your banner shall gleam, So fight for Grass Valley, oh fight on, fight on, team. www- f Drum Corps The drum corps this year proved to be a great asset to the school. Their fine work for the drill team and majorettes will long be remembered as among the very best the school has seen. The leader for the year was Carol Underwood, who did a good job in directing the corps. Yell Leuklggs Truly outstanding were the yell leaders for the year. T-hey gave the cheering section the pep needed to give our teams the go-ahead they had. There were new yells learned and old ones done over to seem new. Left to right they are: Bob Rice, Betty Waddelow and Hobart Smith. Maioreffes With the large group of eleven, this year's majorettes did a hne job of entertaining. They demonstrated a routine of fancy steps and fast twirling that was worth watching closely. The head majorettes were Barbara Wood and Beverly Patterson.
